The Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) has initiated legal action against three private schools for operating during the officially notified winter vacation period.

The Elementary and Secondary Education Department announced winter vacations from January 1 to January 15 in summer zones and from December 22, 2025, to February 28, 2026, in winter zones.

On the directions of PSRA Managing Director Javed Iqbal, the authority formed an inspection committee comprising Assistant Director Syed Faizan Ali Shah and Assistant Muhammad Roshaan, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.

The committee conducted inspections in Peshawar district after receiving complaints through various channels regarding violations of the winter vacation notification.

During the inspections, the committee found The Educators School Rahatabad Campus, Ittefaq Model School and College Chamkani, and The Knowledge School Chamkani operating during the winter vacation period.

The inspection team confirmed that the schools opened in violation of the winter vacation notification jointly issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and PSRA on December 19, 2025.

Officials said the authority had repeatedly warned the schools to comply with the notification, but the institutions continued academic activities despite the directives.

Following the confirmed violations, PSRA has decided to take strict legal action against the concerned schools under the rules and regulations of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority.
